Group X Class Descriptions



Cardio Step n' Sculpt

A total body workout! This class alternates between cardio intervals and muscular strength and endurance drills utilizing the step. Continuous movement to great music keeps the heart rate up for a sweat drenched sculpting session.

Hard Core Abs

A great class to target you tummy! This intermediate level class has advanced core exercises to shape and tone your abdominal area. Core rotation, crunches and planks are just a few examples of some of the exercises we do.

Maxed Out!

is an athletic inspired class that incorporates total body strength exercises and intense cardio conditioning drills. The class begins with a standard dynamic warm up followed by a total body strength workout utilizing various equipment such as dumb bells, bar, BOSU, and kettle bells. The second half of the class focuses on a variety of athletic cardio drills followed by a cool down, core strength and stretch. If you're ready to take it to the next level and you want to be pushed, then this is the class for you!

Nash's Knock out!

A fun high intensity that will Knock your socks off!  Non contact, kickboxing styled cardio workout, designed to burn calories and release your frustrations.  Moves are simple yet intense based on boxing, Kick boxing,  Capoeira, Athletic conditioning drills and calisthenics.  Come burn off some of the gluttony of the weekend and release some toxins.

PUMP

Get ready to get toned up! Pump will sculpt and tone your entire body from head to toe. Using barbells, dumbbells, bands and you own body to work your muscles and build strength. This class is intended for all levels as you can select the weight you use.

Strength n' Stretch

This energetic class is suitable for all fitness levels - participants choose their own weights. The workout consists of barbell training for every major muscle group. Posture, correct lifting technique and core muscle engagement are emphasized. Choreography is simple:  think of it as a structured weightlifting workout to music. Floor work and a complete body stretch round out the second half of the class.

Summer Fit

Get ready for all that summer in Vancouver has to offer by looking and feeling your best! Incorporating high intensity cardio with full body strength conditioning, this class will prepare you for beach volleyball, outdoor hikes, or the bathing suit you haven’t worn since last year. Get ready to work hard doing exercises that will leave your legs toned, improve your upper body strength, tighten your core and improve your stamina. Fast paced and energizing, this class will have you ready for the beach in no time!

The Morning Grind

This class is the second portion of the 90-minute Grind. Just as challenging as the “Grouse Grind” except indoors. The first half is 45 minutes of spin, which will challenge your cardio level. This portion is a boot-camp style workout intended to challenge your strength and endurance. You can participate in the entire 90 minute class or choose either the spin or Boot-camp. All levels welcome..... but be prepared for a challenge!!

Yoga for Sports

For both the casual and serious athlete looking to build strength and flexibility to improve performance and reduce the risk of sports related injuries using yoga poses to open and stretch the upper body, hips, quads and hamstrings. This practice will leave you balanced and invigorated to start your day. All levels.

Yoga for the Heart

The Heart is the most powerful conductor of bio electricity in the body. Research has shown that the bio electrical current of the heart is 40-60 times stronger than that of the brain. Yoga for the Heart is an all levels class incorporating pranyama breathing techniques with a mindful vinyasa flow, to allow the student to deepen an awareness to this powerful energetic system.

Power Yoga

Enjoy a dynamic, energetic and inspiring yoga practice, allowing you to build endurance, strength, flexibility and concentration. Great for athletes, this style of yoga will be an excellent complement to your sports.

Sunrise Flow

Challenge yourself with this gentle yet strong flow style yoga class that will invigorate your body and mind and wake you up. Suitable for all levels. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Urban Flow Yoga

Invigorating power yoga class that will allow you to gain strength, flexibility and health while you continue to challenge yourself and have fun. Set to urban grooves that will inspire and move you.

Express Power Yoga

If you've been sitting at a desk all morning, this class is for you. A strengthening and invigorating dynamic, yoga class with a focus on activating the deep core muscles. You will leave feeling energized, focused and calm. All levels, no yoga experience necessary.

Dynamic Flow Yoga

A joyful, heart oriented, dynamic and energetic practice incorporating traditional poses from various styles of yoga with vinyasa transitions, linking breath with movement into flowing asana sequences promoting strength, balance, flexibility, core development, deep relaxation and quieting the mind. Class structure also includes arm balances. Some yoga experience required.

Friday Fresh Flow

A physically challenging class to work out the kinks developed during the week. This is a light hearted flow style class that will build some heat and strength. All levels are welcome as lots of modifications are given but feel free to safely test your limits in a fun and open environment. Leave with a calm and refreshed feeling for the weekend! A lovely way to end the work week!

Fusion

The best of both Pilates and yoga, totally integrated and peppered with Gi Gong breath and yang Tai Chi moves to challenge all levels, sculpting the body while connecting the mind, body and spirit in a focused and fun workout.

Hatha Yoga

Experience a meditative, calm, yet strong practice. Perfect for beginners or advanced students who seek mind-body awareness and flexibility.

Pilates Mat Class mixed level and intermediate

Mat Pilates will introduce the basic Pilates core progressions and challenge you with more advanced mat work allowing you to gain subtle core strength and length.

Zumba!

The Zumba program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a kind fitness program that will blow you away. Zumba Fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!
